Cengiz Ünder, the star player transferred by Fenerbahçe from Olympique Marseille, presented ‘The Great Speech’ written by the Great Leader Gazi as a gift to his teammates today as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic.

A special gift was prepared by star player Cengiz Ünder for the football team, who are camping at Can Bartu Facilities ahead of tonight’s Super League match against Pendikspor. The footballers, who came together for lunch at noon, were given ‘The Great Speech’ book as a gift. In response to this special gift, the players expressed that they were happy to have this work written by Atatürk, a man who inspired the Turkish nation with his leadership and who had farsightedness in the understanding of the modern world. The Great Speech was prepared as a gift for his teammates and the following note was written by Cengiz Ünder in Turkish and English:

A soldier, a statesman, a warrior, a teacher, a visionary, the Founder and the Grand Leader of the Turkish Republic… Having transformed Turkey into a secular, modern and democratic nation, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk is an epitome of the values that represent equality, elegance and bravery. And for me; it is a privilege to be able to spread his words and represent the principles he dedicated to the Turkish people. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, it means a lot to be able to share these values with you as an athlete of a sports club supported by Atatürk. I hope this masterpiece becomes a guide that we can all look up to throughout our lifetime.

And as Mustafa Kemal Atatürk famously said “I wish Fenerbahçe infinite success”
