Proposal for the Super Cup to be played in Turkey
The proposal to play the Super Cup in Turkey was accepted at the Fenerbahçe Supreme Council Board Meeting.
A motion was made in the Fenerbahçe High Council Board to play the Super Cup Final between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray, which will be played in Saudi Arabia on December 29, in Turkey.
In the motion submitted to the council board at the Supreme Council Board Meeting held at Fenerbahçe Faruk Ilgaz Facilities in Kalamış, it was stated that “The Super Cup Final, on the 100th anniversary of the Republic, should not be played in a country against Atatürk’s principles and revolutions. Fenerbahçe, the indomitable defender of Atatürk’s principles and revolutions. Since it would be incompatible with the history, glory and honor of Fenerbahçe Sports Club. We propose that to play the final at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in İstanbul or Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium be submitted to the votes of the Supreme Council Board.”
As a result of the voting, the motion was accepted unanimously.
