Gifted jerseys to Ali Koç and executives
Ali Koç and the executives who visited the set of ‘Color of Victory’ in Kocaeli were presented with jerseys used in the film and reflecting the era by director Abdullah Oğuz and the actors. Ali Koç and the executives took a commemorative photo with the film crew.
“We believe this film will be very successful”
Expressing his confidence in the success of the film, Ali Koç stated, “We were very impressed. Hopefully, our film will be released on February 16. Before that, we will have premieres; both in Istanbul and in Germany. We believe it will be successful. A lot of effort, dedication, and money have been invested. With patience and perseverance, we have come to this point. We have great confidence in this film.”
Koç said, “For years, there have been many applications to the club to make the General Harrington Cup film. I experienced this both as an executive and as the president. But for one reason or another, it never happened. Therefore, I want to congratulate Abdullah Bey and his team for turning the story of this film into a movie for the first time. We want to thank them on behalf of our community. We believe this film will be very successful. We also believe that Fenerbahçe fans will seriously support this film because it is rare to have such a story.”
“It’s not about whom Atatürk supported, but who follows Atatürk’s path is important”
Koç said, “It is worth reminding that we are the children of a community that has played very important roles in the liberation and establishment of this young country of the Republic. Our story is vast. It is very much for this Republic and for this country. When it comes to our Atatürk, there are many anecdotes in history, documents, information, and events. We Fenerbahçe fans never say, ‘Atatürk supports Fenerbahçe.’ even if we believe in it. What do we say? ‘It is not about whom Atatürk supported, but who follows Atatürk’s path is important.’ Since the establishment of this community, regardless of who is at the helm, or who is in the management, it has never deviated even a gram. Therefore, the incident of the Harrington Cup, its story, and history being identified with us is very important. Already, our Atatürk personally came to our club and wrote his feelings and thoughts about the club in the club’s memorial book with his own hands.”
Baki: “It’s impossible not to be moved”
Board member Selahattin Baki, who said he thanked director Abdullah Oğuz and the whole cast, said, “It is impossible not to be moved. We are like on a journey in time. It’s amazing. Those who watch will be very moved; they will remember the forgotten. I thank our president, our whole community, Abdullah Bey, and the entire cast. Let them exist. When you see the atmosphere here, remember the historical facts once again, you see this; Fenerbahçe Turks have made living to fight when it comes to the homeland, and dying old enough to die, a philosophy of life. This makes us very special. Thank goodness for Fenerbahçe. How happy is the one who says, ‘I am a Turk.'”
Oğuz: ‘Going to this film is a duty for every Fenerbahçe fan.’
The director of the film, Abdullah Oğuz, said in his statements, “I thank you too. You believed, you came, you gave all your support. If there wasn’t this support, we couldn’t bring it to life. We are doing our best not to be embarrassed. We did a lot of things ourselves. We built Taksim Stadium. It’s very difficult. I feel tired, but we did a beautiful job. We worked with a squad like the Champions League. The behind-the-scenes team is very professional. Going to this film is a duty for every Fenerbahçe fan. At the same time, this is a resistance film. Also, there is a unifying aspect to this film, everyone will see it when they watch.”
