Fenerbahçe Club’s Statement on Turkish Super Cup!
Fenerbahçe Club has released a statement regarding the events during the postponed Super Cup match.
Here is the announcement from Fenerbahçe Club:
“A brief clarification is necessary regarding the Super Cup final match, which was planned to be played on December 29, 2023, and the developments that occurred during this period.
First and foremost, we would like to express our great honor and happiness at seeing the support of our nation throughout the entire process. We extend our gratitude to everyone who provided strength and support to us during this challenging period.
Our country, our Republic, our Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and our nation are superior values, just like the Fenerbahçe Club among all sports clubs in our country.
We prioritize these values above trophies, sports competition, financial expectations, politics, and, in short, above everything else. The disruptions before the Super Cup final occurred due to our sensitivity regarding these values, which are beyond debate. There is no other reason or purpose beyond this.
We are surprised that the agenda created by the cancellation of the Super Cup final has later turned into an arena filled with diplomacy, politics, and conspiracy theories.
This agenda has no connection to foreign policy, politics, or conspiracy theories whatsoever.
Our greatest desire is for the discussions being attempted in the public arena in an erroneous context to come to an end as soon as possible.
By emphasizing that sports should be kept separate from politics, without intertwining sports with political competition, we invite everyone to act with reason and wisdom.
We also want to specifically point out that the disruptions in the organization of the Super Cup final match are not solely due to the non-acceptance of the requests of the two clubs.
Furthermore, even though the decision not to participate in the match was made by both clubs, we want to inform the public that we will take legal steps against those who share unrealistic, speculative statements and messages, targeting only our club and executives, and make false accusations and allegations.”
