Ismail Kartal makes 4 changes

In the 18th week of the Trendyol Super League, Fenerbahçe, hosting Galatasaray, saw coach Ismail Kartal make four changes compared to the starting lineup of the previous match against Kayserispor.

In the absence of the suspended Fred, Kartal fielded Miguel Crespo, and instead of Ismail Yüksek, he gave the opportunity to İrfan Can Kahveci in the 11.

In defense, Kartal, who played Djiku-Serdar Aziz duo in the last match, gave the jersey to Oosterwolde against Galatasaray in place of Serdar Aziz, who has been absent from training for three days due to illness.

Another change by Kartal occurred in the forward line. Bosnian forward Dzeko, who was not taken to the Kayseri away game due to an injury, returned to the starting 11 against Galatasaray, while Batshuayi sat on the bench.

Kartal fielded Livakovic in goal against Galatasaray, and in defense, Osayi-Samuel, Djiku, Oosterwolde, and Ferdi Kadıoğlu got the jerseys.

In the midfield, Crespo, İrfan Can Kahveci, Cengiz Ünder, Szymanski, and Tadic took the field for the yellow-navy team, while Dzeko was in the starting 11 as a forward.

On the Fenerbahçe bench against Galatasaray were İrfan Can Eğribayat, Samet Akaydin, Mert Müldür, Bartuğ Elmaz, İsmail Yüksek, Emre Mor, Kent, King, Umut Nayir, and Batshuayi.

Martyrs not forgotten at Ülker Stadium

The soldiers martyred in the ongoing Claw-Lock operation in northern Iraq were not forgotten in the derby.

The LED screens in the stadium displayed expressions of “Condolences” before the match. No advertisements were shown on the screens inside the field before the match.

Fenerbahçe, coming to the field for warm-up before the match, carried a banner saying “Condolences,” receiving a big applause from the stands. The fans at Ülker Stadium made chants condemning terrorism. The yellow-navy players also warmed up before the match wearing black t-shirts.

Before the match, both teams came to the ceremony with banners saying “Martyrs Do Not Die, Homeland Will Not Be Divided.”

By the decision of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), the players entered the field with black armbands. A minute of silence was observed before the match.

During the minute of silence and the national anthem, the names of the 12 soldiers who were martyred were displayed on the LED screens inside the field.

Dzeko returned

Fenerbahçe’s striker Edin Dzeko reunited with his jersey in the Galatasaray match.

The striker, who was not included in the squad for the match against Kayserispor due to a detected strain in his right hamstring to avoid risking him before the Galatasaray match, joined the team in the derby.

This season, with 12 goals and 4 assists in 15 matches played in the Super League, Dzeko, who shares the top of the goal-scoring charts with Galatasaray’s Mauro Icardi, scored 16 goals and made 7 assists in 21 official matches with Fenerbahçe jersey.

Fenerbahçe went into the match against Galatasaray without 5 players.

In addition to the injured Becao and Zajc, Serdar Aziz, who has not participated in training for three days due to illness, left the team alone.
