Fenerbahçe’s Midfield Sebastian Szymanski Set for 100th Game
Fenerbahçe's standout midfielder, Sebastian Szymanski, is set to etch his name in club history. If the Polish international takes the field against Trabzonspor, he will become only the second player, after Dusan Tadic, to reach this milestone in such a short time.

Szymanski is set to make his 100th official appearance for Fenerbahçe, having joined the club at the start of the 2023-24 season. A key figure under former coach İsmail Kartal and current manager Jose Mourinho, the 25-year-old has been one of the most utilized players in the squad.
Last season, Szymanski played in 55 of Fenerbahçe’s 58 official matches, missing only three games. He was absent from the controversial Turkish Super Cup match against Galatasaray, which Fenerbahçe’s U19 team started but did not complete. Additionally, he was left out of the squad for one Turkish Cup match and missed a Süper Lig game due to suspension.
In the 2023-24 season, Szymanski featured in 37 of Fenerbahçe’s 38 league matches, as well as all 16 of their UEFA Conference League fixtures. Throughout the campaign, he contributed 10 goals and 12 assists in the league while playing 2,899 minutes. In Europe, he registered three goals and seven assists across 997 minutes.
This season, Szymanski has continued his impressive run under Mourinho. He has played in 44 of Fenerbahçe’s 47 official matches, with only three absences—two Turkish Cup matches and a Süper Lig fixture against Kasımpaşa due to suspension. He has logged 1,825 minutes in 26 league matches, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
In European competitions, the Polish midfielder has played in all 16 matches, amassing 1,356 minutes, scoring three goals, and registering four assists. He has also featured in two Turkish Cup matches, adding one goal in 135 minutes.
By reaching 100 appearances in his second season, Szymanski will become the second-fastest player in Fenerbahçe history to achieve this milestone. Last week, Serbian star Dusan Tadic became the first player to do so in just two seasons, marking his 100th match against Sipay Bodrum FK.
Szymanski, who has already played 99 official matches for Fenerbahçe—including 63 in the Süper Lig—has spent a total of 7,280 minutes on the pitch, contributing 20 goals and 28 assists.
