Mourinho’s New Favorite: Jayden Oosterwolde Fills Ferdi’s Shoes Successfully
After Ferdi Kadıoğlu's transfer to Brighton, José Mourinho has found his new Ferdi. The experienced coach’s new choice for the left-back position, Jayden Oosterwolde, has been performing in a way that makes fans miss Ferdi less.
One of the most anticipated questions after Ferdi’s departure was who Mourinho would assign to the left-back position or whether a new transfer would be made. However, the Portuguese coach has found his new favorite.
NEW FAVORITE OOSTERWOLDE
According to a report in Hürriyet, Jayden Oosterwolde, a Dutch player whom Fenerbahçe signed from the Italian team Parma in 2023 with a 6 million Euro transfer fee and a 4.5-year contract, has become the new favorite of the Portuguese coach after Ferdi’s departure.
It is anticipated that if the Dutch star is selected for the national team next season, his market value, which the management does not plan to sell for less than 30 million Euros, could rise to 40 million Euros.
‘NO NEED TO PANIC’
After Ferdi’s departure, there was discussion about the need for a backup for Oosterwolde at left-back, but Mourinho assured that “there’s no need for a panic transfer,” and informed the management that there are alternatives within the team for this role.
In case of injury or suspension, Mert Müldür, who has played left-back multiple times for the national team, new signing Levent Mercan, or even Osayi-Samuel, who was used as a left-back out of necessity during the Pereira era, could be evaluated for this position.
