Fenerbahçe competed in Group B during the group stage of the Ziraat Turkish Cup. The Yellow-Navy Blues won all three of their matches, finishing as group leaders with 9 points. They scored 12 goals and conceded just 1, entering the draw as a seeded team.

Galatasaray, on the other hand, played in Group C of the Turkish Cup. The Yellow-Reds finished second in their group with 5 points, as Konyaspor claimed the top spot. Galatasaray scored 6 goals and conceded 3 during the group stage. Since they finished as group runners-up, they entered the draw from the unseeded pot.

WHEN IS THE FENERBAHÇE-GALATASARAY DERBY?
