Fenerbahçe Eyes 17-Year-Old Talent Yasin Özcan from Kasımpaşa for Defense
Fenerbahçe, aiming to reinforce their defense with a local talent, has reportedly added 17-year-old Yasin Özcan from Kasımpaşa to their list after Braga defender Serdar Saatçı.
Due to constraints in the foreign player quota, Fenerbahçe seeks to strengthen its defense with a local player. The loan of Serdar Saatçı from Braga appeared to be the primary option. Another alternative was the return of Emir Ortakaya, who had been loaned to Kocaelispor. Fenerbahçe has now added another player to the list: Yasin Özcan.
Despite being only 17 years old, the young defender has become a regular part of Kasımpaşa’s starting XI. Yasin has played in 33 matches for Kasımpaşa’s A team since last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in those games.
Both a Center-Back and Left-Back
Yasin Özcan’s inclusion in Fenerbahçe’s radar is not solely due to his consistent play in the Super Lig despite his young age. The 17-year-old defender is versatile, capable of playing both as a center-back and left-back, utilizing his left foot effectively.
According to reports in Fanatik, Fenerbahçe’s management aims to strengthen the defensive rotation and make a significant investment in the future by bringing the young player into the squad.
