A striking claim has been made by the Italian press regarding Rade Krunic, the midfielder of Milan, who is on Fenerbahçe's transfer agenda.
Fenerbahçe, continuing its journey at full speed in the Turkish Super Lig and UEFA Conference League, has turned its attention to the transfers planned for January. The yellow-navy blues aim to add Milan‘s Bosnian midfielder Rade Krunic to their squad in January, a player who was also on their agenda during the summer transfer window. The Italian press has put forward a striking claim about Rade Krunic.
Milan did not let him go in the summer
Fenerbahçe had sought to strengthen its midfield by trying to transfer Rade Krunic from Milan during the summer, along with star names such as Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic, Sebastian Szymanski, Fred, Becao, Djiku, and Cengiz Ünder.
Fenerbahçe had offered Milan 7 million euros, but the Italian giant insisted on 12 million euros, and the transfer did not materialize. Despite Fenerbahçe reaching an agreement with Rade Krunic on all fronts, the necessary approval did not come from his club.
It was noted that Fenerbahçe’s Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko played a significant role in convincing Krunic during the negotiation phase.
Transfer in January
Fenerbahçe aims to sign Rade Krunic, whom they couldn’t acquire during the summer transfer window, in January. Senad Ok, Fenerbahçe reporter for Milliyet Newspaper, stated that Fenerbahçe would offer Milan 5-6 million euros for Rade Krunic. It was also claimed that Lyon from France was interested in Krunic. It is expected that Krunic, who is reportedly attracting interest from Lyon in France, will choose Fenerbahçe over a team struggling near the relegation zone in Ligue 1.
Italian media announces Milan’s decision
Rade Krunic, one of the top names on Fenerbahçe’s midfield transfer list, is preparing to leave Milan in January. According to a report in Italy’s Calciomercato, Milan is ready to accept Fenerbahçe’s offer for Krunic.
The report stated, “Rade Krunic decided to leave AC Milan a long time ago and accept Fenerbahçe’s offer. Now everything depends on the Turkish club: If they make a serious and concrete offer, the Bosnian player can bid farewell to Milan in January.”
After December 15
Senad Ok, Milliyet’s Fenerbahçe correspondent, mentioned that Fenerbahçe’s management stated they would not pay a transfer fee of 10 million euros for Rade Krunic. Senad Ok indicated that an offer of 5-6 million euros, excluding bonuses, would be made for Krunic.
Senad Ok stated, “The Krunic transfer will gain momentum after December 15. Fenerbahçe is not in a hurry about this matter. With advantages such as the player’s desire to leave Milan, a budget of 5-6 million euros is aimed for completing this transfer.”
