Leonardo Bonucci officially joins Fenerbahçe!

Fenerbahçe has acquired the services of the 36-year-old seasoned center-back, Leonardo Bonucci.

In a statement from Fenerbahçe; “Our club has added the Italian defense player Leonardo Bonucci to its squad. The experienced center-back will wear the Fenerbahçe jersey until the end of the 2023-24 season. The signing ceremony, held at Ülker Stadium Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex, was attended by our President Ali Y. Koç, our General Secretary Burak Çağlan Kızılhan, our Board Members Simla Türker Bayazıt, Selahattin Baki, our Sporting Director Mario Branco, and our Assistant Sporting Director Okan Özkan. We welcome Leonardo Bonucci to our family and wish him success with Fenerbahçe,” it was stated.

Bonucci played in 610 matches in his career.

He was selected to the UEFA Europa League squad of the season in 2013-14 and 2017-18, and he was named four times in Serie A Team of the Year.

In 2016, he was chosen as Serie A Footballer of the Year and also featured in the UEFA Team of the Year in the same season.

In 2017, he was part of the FIFA FIFPro World11 and IFFHS Men’s World Team, as well as the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League Season’s Team and the 2016-17 ESM Team of the Year.

Throughout his club and national team career, Bonucci has played in 610 matches and scored 45 goals.
