Michy Batshuayi Transfer Rumors: Leeds United Target Fenerbahçe Striker
The British press has claimed that Fenerbahçe's star player could transfer to an English team at the end of the season.
As the end of the season approaches, clubs in Turkey and Europe have begun intensive work on transfer planning for the next season. Fenerbahçe, which brought in important names before the season and during the mid-season transfer window, is expected to have a busy schedule for transfers at the end of the season.
While work continues on new additions to the team, attention is also focused on players whose contracts will expire and those who will leave the team.
The British press has featured a surprising claim regarding Fenerbahçe’s standby striker, Michy Batshuayi.
It is claimed that if Leeds United, currently in second place in the English Championship, is promoted to the Premier League, they will sign Michy Batshuayi.
The news in the British press stated the following regarding Leeds United’s transfer list:
“Leeds are eyeing former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, who has extensive Premier League experience (77 matches with Chelsea). The Belgian player is currently playing for Fenerbahçe in Turkey, but with his contract expiring in the summer, he could transfer to Elland Road.”
“Although they currently have several forward options including Patrick Bamford and Joel Piroe, strengthening their position as a suitable Premier League team is an area Leeds could improve upon. The 30-year-old Batshuayi is a reliable striker, as evidenced by his 21 goals in 36 matches in the 2023/24 season.”
While it is expected that the star player will be included in the Belgian National Team squad for Euro 2024, his contract has a one-year option even though it expires at the end of the season. The successful striker earns €3 million annually from Fenerbahçe.
Batshuayi, who has worn the Fenerbahçe shirt 36 times in all competitions this season, scored 21 goals and provided three assists.
