FAREWELL TO THE NATIONAL TEAM FROM TADIC
Dusan Tadic announced his retirement from the Serbian National Team through a statement on his social media account. In his statement, Tadic said, “With this announcement, I want to address all football fans. I am trying to be as accurate and direct as possible. I stand behind the views I have expressed. I want to particularly emphasize that I have no intention of insulting my teammates or anyone in the Serbian team in Germany, and therefore, I feel the need to explain some things for the last time, which I know have been subjects of discussion. The national team has always been a love for me. Love for the homeland, love for people, love for the game, competition, socializing… I am bidding farewell to the national team, but I believe I will be there again one day. After my playing career, I want to stay in football, and there is nothing better than being able to help your country if you can.”
NATIONAL TEAM CAREER
Tadic played 111 matches with the national team. The 35-year-old contributed 23 goals and 40 assists in these matches.
