Following Fenerbahçe’s elimination from the Ziraat Turkish Cup at the hands of Galatasaray, no member of the club’s technical staff attended the post-match press conference.

In the quarter-final clash, Fenerbahçe hosted Galatasaray but suffered a 2-1 defeat.

At the final whistle, Jose Mourinho confronted Okan Buruk, who had been making offensive gestures and insults towards him on the field. In response, Mourinho grabbed Buruk’s nose, after which Buruk theatrically threw himself to the ground. Referee Cihan Aydın immediately showed Mourinho a red card.

Additionally, Fenerbahçe assistant coach Salvatore Foti was also shown a red card in the 90th minute during a heated altercation. Due to the controversial incidents and on-field tensions, Fenerbahçe chose to boycott the post-match press conference in protest.
