Fenerbahçe Coach Mourinho Booked for Protesting Referee’s Decision
Fenerbahçe's head coach, Jose Mourinho, and his assistant, Salvatore Foti, received yellow cards during the match against Adana Demirspor for protesting the referee’s decisions. The Portuguese coach was visibly upset with some of referee Atilla Karaoğlan's calls.
In the first week of the Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe hosted Adana Demirspor at home. In his first Süper Lig match with Fenerbahçe, head coach Jose Mourinho expressed his frustration with the referee‘s decisions.
MOURINHO AND HIS ASSISTANT RECEIVE YELLOW CARDS
In the 20th minute of the match, after Fenerbahçe was ordered to retake a quick throw-in, Jose Mourinho and his assistant Salvatore Foti became visibly angry. As a result of their protests, Foti was shown a yellow card. Jose Mourinho also received a yellow card from referee Atilla Karaoğlan for protesting during the stoppage time of the match.

It was observed that Jose Mourinho was particularly upset with some of referee Atilla Karaoğlan’s decisions. Additionally, it was learned that Mourinho objected because the assistants of Adana Demirspor’s head coach, Michael Valkanis, were frequently seen standing at the front of the technical area.
