Boca Juniors President Riquelme Comments on Medina’s Fenerbahçe Transfer
A key update has come out about Cristian Medina at Fenerbahçe, just before the team plays Kasımpaşa tomorrow evening in the Süper Lig. The president of Boca Juniors spoke about the midfielder, with whom Fenerbahçe has reportedly made a deal.
Boca Juniors President Juan Roman Riquelme had the following to say about Medina’s transfer to Fenerbahçe:
“CONTRACTS MUST BE RESPECTED!”
“If a player receives an offer from Europe, our club will respond accordingly. Since it has become fashionable now, the player tries to answer the offer and decide where to move. If a player has a contract with a club, that contract must be respected.”
“IT’S BECOME A TREND!”
“The new thing is people saying ‘the player decided to leave.’ The champion has a two-year contract… The media has put them in such a position that it seems like the players are the owners of the clubs. Saying that has also become fashionable.”
MINOR ISSUES REMAIN
According to a report from Argentine media outlet Elintransigente, the agreement between Fenerbahçe and Boca Juniors for Cristian Medina is almost complete. It is reported that only minor issues remain in the negotiations. If there are no setbacks, the 22-year-old midfielder is expected to sign with Fenerbahçe in January.
