Fenerbahçe’s 17-Day Break Ends: Mourinho Expected to Make Crucial Lineup Adjustments
Fenerbahçe played their last match on October 3rd against Twente. After a 17-day break, they will return to the field in the Süper Lig, facing Samsunspor. Changes are expected in Jose Mourinho’s starting XI.

The Portuguese coach is expected to give Osayi Samuel a chance at right-back instead of Mert Müldür. The biggest uncertainty is likely in the center-back position. Becao worked hard at Samandıra during the international break. Djiku played matches for the Ghana national team, and Çağlar has just recovered from an injury. Meanwhile, Filip Kostic could potentially play at left-back, giving Oosterwolde a chance to move to center-back. A Becao-Oosterwolde pairing in defense would not be a surprise.
İrfan Can Kahveci on the right, Tadic on the left
The area where Mourinho is expected to make the easiest decision is the central midfield. Since İsmail Yüksek is just coming back from injury, Fred and Amrabat are almost certain to start. In front of them, İrfan Can is expected to play on the right, Tadic on the left, and Szymanski in the number 10 role. In the forward position, with En-Nesyri returning late from international duty, Edin Dzeko seems likely to start.
Here is Fenerbahçe‘s predicted starting XI against Samsunspor:
Livakovic, Osayi Samuel, Becao, Oosterwolde, Kostic, Fred, Amrabat, İrfan Can Kahveci, Szymanski, Tadic, Dzeko.
