“I Owe Fenerbahçe a Title”: Dzeko Rejects Big-Money Move to MLS
Fenerbahçe’s 38-year-old striker Edin Dzeko continues to carry the team’s scoring load this season. Despite speculation about his departure from Fenerbahçe at the start of the season due to his advancing age, it has been revealed that Dzeko received a highly lucrative offer. The Bosnian star, however, did not take long to respond to it.
Edin Dzeko, who joined Fenerbahçe on a free transfer last season, scored 21 goals in his debut Süper Lig season and finished second in the league’s top scorer race.

It was claimed that Dzeko received an offer from MLS during the off-season while his potential departure was being discussed.
According to a report in Sabah, the star striker, who earns €4.2 million annually at Fenerbahçe, was offered €8 million by an MLS club.
However, Dzeko reportedly turned down the offer, stating, “I have promised Fenerbahçe a championship.”
This season, Edin Dzeko has played 22 matches for Fenerbahçe, clocking 1,324 minutes.
The veteran star has contributed with 13 goals and 3 assists in these appearances.
