Official: Fenerbahçe Defender Samet Akaydın Signs with Çaykur Rizespor

Fenerbahçe parted ways with Samet Akaydın, who was not included in head coach Jose Mourinho’s squad plans. The yellow-navy blue club announced that the 30-year-old player’s contract was terminated by mutual consent.

Trendyol Süper Lig side Çaykur Rizespor signed Fenerbahçe’s defender Samet Akaydın on a 1.5-year deal.

After signing with Rizespor, Samet Akaydın shared his thoughts during the signing ceremony:

“I would like to thank the prominent figures from Rize who contributed to this transfer. I have been aware of Rize’s interest in me since the beginning of the season. I really wanted to join at that time, but it was destined to happen now. I am already a son of this region. I will do my best for Rizespor; no one should have any doubts about that.
