Speaking about Diego Carlos’ transfer to Fenerbahçe, Emery said: “We didn’t want Diego Carlos to leave, but he accepted the offer from Fenerbahçe. We are now trying to bring in a center-back to replace him.”

Fenerbahçe’s new signing Diego Carlos made his debut for the yellow-and-navy team in their 3-2 victory against Göztepe.
Transferred from England’s Aston Villa, the 31-year-old player started the match on the bench and came on in the 88th minute, replacing Youssef En-Nesyri.
