Mourinho: “I Don’t Want Children Growing Up in a Corrupt Sports Environment!”
Fenerbahçe’s Portuguese coach, Jose Mourinho, shared his thoughts on Turkish football during the Bright Future Awards ceremony, organized by 1907 ÜNİFEB Association for 2024.

Fenerbahçe’s experienced coach, Jose Mourinho, made statements about Turkish football at the Bright Future Awards ceremony organized by the 1907 ÜNİFEB Association for 2024.
At the ceremony, where awards were presented in 21 different categories, Fenerbahçe head coach Jose Mourinho received the “Project of the Year” award for the “Our Dreams Are One for Children” initiative. Expressing his thoughts on the award, Mourinho said:
“I have worked in four different countries and learned the language very easily in each of them, but I couldn’t learn Turkish because my translators are too good. This award is not for me, I don’t deserve it. It belongs to our club because we are a very big club that takes great initiatives. I was just the face of this project. So, this award is for our club.”
The Portuguese coach concluded his speech with the following remarks:
“Whenever I go to a new country, I try to embrace it and learn about it. Children are the foundation of a nation, and I am very happy to be part of this project. The tragedy that occurred in this country has deeply affected every citizen. When it comes to children, it touches everyone’s heart even more. I like to understand how to love the country I go to and its culture. But if there is something I don’t like, I fight against it. I don’t want children growing up in this country to experience a corrupt sports environment. The only way to fight this is by competing fairly and cleanly.”
