Bright Osayi-Samuel Stranded in Libya: “You Can Do Better,” Says Fenerbahçe Star

Fenerbahçe's Nigerian right-back, Bright Osayi-Samuel, announced that he was stranded at an airport in Libya. Tagging the African Football Confederation, Osayi-Samuel stated, "You can do better."

Posting about the issue on his social media account, -Samuel said, “I’ve been stranded at a random Libyan airport for 15 hours without health or safety.”

The Nigerian right-back tagged the African Football Confederation, saying, “You can do better.”

The BBC reported that the Nigerian ‘s plane, en route to the Libya match for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, was redirected to Al Abraq Airport in Benghazi instead of the intended airport.

Another star of the Nigerian national team, Victor Boniface, commented on the situation: “I’ve been at the airport for nearly 13 hours. There’s no food, internet, or a place to sleep.”

Another person who made a statement on the matter was Osimhen. The Nigerian footballer from expressed the following:

“I’m disappointed by the unjust treatment my brothers and coaches faced at the Libyan airport last night. Actions like this go against the spirit of sport. My support is with my team, and I know they will stay strong despite these obstacles. As my teammates and officials are still stranded at the airport in Libya, I call on CAF and other football bodies to intervene. This is unnecessary and inhumane. We stand together, stronger than ever.”

According to reports in the Nigerian press, the Nigerian Football Federation unanimously decided to withdraw from the Libya match following these events in Libya.
