Fenerbahçe’s Dominik Livakovic Shares Thoughts on Istanbul: ‘Similar to Croatia…’
Fenerbahçe's successful goalkeeper, Dominik Livakovic, who has won the admiration of the Fenerbahçe community, spoke about Istanbul. The prominent player drew a parallel between the city and his home country, Croatia.

Fenerbahçe, who made significant moves in transfers this season with names like Dzeko, Tadic, Szymanski, Fred, Becao, Mert Müldür, and Cengiz Ünder, made one of the most noteworthy moves with Dominik Livakovic.
Zagreb’s Reluctance
Not satisfied with Altay Bayındır’s performance, the Yellow-Navies were looking for a more reliable goalkeeper. After lengthy negotiations, Fenerbahçe managed to convince Dinamo Zagreb for 6.65 million Euros, adding the Croatian goalkeeper to their squad. Immediately after, they sold Altay to the English giant Manchester United for 5 million Euros.
Kept the Goal Closed in 6 out of 12 Matches
Taking over the goal, Livakovic prevented 11 goals in the 12 matches he played with Fenerbahçe. The 28-year-old goalkeeper, who closed his goal six times, managed to receive positive reviews from the fans. The star player, who attracts attention with his quiet personality, broke his silence.
In his statements about Istanbul, Dominik Livakovic used the following expressions:
“Life in Istanbul is exciting. The city is very colorful with its rich culture and history. Here, just like in Croatia, football is more than a sport, and I respect every fan’s desire to take photos or talk. I haven’t had much time to see Istanbul so far because I’m focused on training, but I definitely want to see it.”
