Fenerbahçe’s Fred referred to the Professional Football Discipline Committee

Fenerbahçe’s footballer Fred, who received a red card in the match against Kayserispor, has been referred to the Professional Football Discipline Committee. The Brazilian player is expected to face a suspension of 3-7 matches.

In the 17th week of the Turkish Super Lig, Fenerbahçe won 4-3 against Kayserispor as the away team. In the 90+10th minute of the match, Fenerbahçe’s Fred received a straight red card.

Regarding the Brazilian player referred to the Professional Discipline Committee, the statement included: “Due to the ‘insult’ by FREDERICO RODRIGUES DE PAULA SANTOS, a player of FENERBAHÇE Club, in the same match, a decision has been made to refer him to the PFDK as a precautionary measure as of 21.12.2023, in accordance with Article 41 of the Football Discipline Regulations.”

According to Article 41 of the TFF Football Discipline Regulations, Fred is expected to face a suspension of 3-7 matches. If the experienced player receives a suspension of 4 matches or more, he will miss the TFF Super Cup match. If the suspension is less than 4 matches, the star player will miss the league match against Galatasaray.

TFF FOOTBALL DISCIPLINE REGULATIONS (1) Those who insult, swear, threaten, or attack personal rights in any way towards TFF or its members, match officials, players, officials, or other relevant clubs and individuals, either through press and media or social media;

(a) Players receive a suspension of 2 to 5 matches; if the actions are directed towards match officials, a suspension of 3 to 7 matches is imposed.
