Jose Mourinho’s Warning Despite 3-0 Win: “The Job Isn’t Done Yet”

Fenerbahçe head coach Jose Mourinho made statements after their 3-0 victory against Anderlecht. Mourinho had notable remarks about Yusuf Akçiçek.

Fenerbahçe defeated Anderlecht 3-0 at home in the first leg of the UEFA Europa League play-off round. The goals came from Tadic, Dzeko, and En-Nesyri.

After the match, Fenerbahçe head coach Jose Mourinho shared his thoughts.

Jose Mourinho said, “We played very well. But I can’t say the result is good. It will only be a good result if we advance. Normally, if you go into halftime leading 3-0, you’re happy. But there’s another 90 minutes in the second leg of this tie. We need to be careful in the away match as well. They will have their fans supporting them. Of course, first, we will focus on the Kasımpaşa match, then we will return to this tournament.”

Praise for Yusuf Akçiçek

Continuing his remarks, the Fenerbahçe head coach said, “I’ve said this before. Even before Yusuf played a game, I mentioned it at the start of the season. I said I wanted to coach and develop this player. I know that, culturally in Turkey, more recognition is given to players who have already reached a high level, but Yusuf is a very talented player. He had a fantastic period, but he needs to keep his feet on the ground. He is a hardworking and intelligent player.”
