Aziz Yıldırım’s Presidential Statement
Former president of Fenerbahçe, Aziz Yıldırım, has released a statement regarding rumors about his candidacy for the presidency. The statement includes the following remarks: "I expect no one to speak on my behalf, and when the time comes, I will personally make the necessary statements. I request the public not to give credence to any information other than what is officially announced."
Aziz Yıldırım addressed the speculations about his candidacy in the upcoming Fenerbahçe presidential elections.
In the statement, he emphasized, “As I openly stated recently, Fenerbahçe Football team is in the battle for the championship, and the club‘s agenda should be focused on winning, not the presidency. However, the community persistently shifts away from the championship agenda, negatively impacting the technical team and the players. This should never be allowed.”
Aziz Yıldırım also stated, “At this point, there are months until the ordinary general assembly with elections, and all these discussions are baseless. Our team needs the championship, but the community’s agenda is persistently diverted from it. Fenerbahçe currently has no concerns about the presidency.”
The entirety of Aziz Yıldırım’s statements is as follows:
“In recent times, I have observed numerous claims in the public domain related to Fenerbahçe Sports Club Presidency, with the expression ‘definitely a candidate’ associated with my name.
As I explicitly stated recently, Fenerbahçe football team is in the battle for the championship, and the club’s agenda should be focused on winning, not the presidency. However, the community persistently shifts away from the championship agenda, negatively impacting the technical team and the players. This should never be allowed.
Also, in a press conference I held a few months ago, in response to a question asked, I expressed, ‘If individuals affiliated with FETÖ (Fethullah Terrorist Organization), coaches, or anyone who has benefited from the club in any way becomes a candidate, and if no one stands against them as a candidate, I will run.’ I put forth very important principles for our club.
At this point, there are months until the ordinary general assembly with elections, and all these discussions are baseless. Our team needs the championship, but the community’s agenda is persistently diverted from it. Fenerbahçe currently has no concerns about the presidency.
If I have any plans, the public will learn about them directly from me, not from third parties. Therefore, no one has the right to speak on my behalf. Necessary statements will be made when the time comes for the ordinary general assembly with elections. Fenerbahçe Sports Club, with more than fifty thousand members, has many suitable candidates for the presidency, and when the time comes, these individuals should come forward as candidates. If they do not, it is a regrettable situation. However, it is too early to discuss these matters, and there is no need for debate.
I expect no one to speak on my behalf, and when the time comes, I will personally make the necessary statements. I request the public not to give credence to any information other than what is officially announced.”
