Fenerbahçe’s Fred becomes a topic of debate in England!
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, former manager of Manchester United, responded to the comments made by Roy Keane about Fred. Keane had criticized the star player, who plays for Fenerbahçe, regarding his time at United. The Norwegian coach responded to his former teammate.

The performance of Fred has become the focus of discussion at Premier League giants Manchester United. Roy Keane had criticized the Brazilian player’s performance during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s tenure. Speaking after the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in 2021, Keane had stated, “Anyone who says Fred is good enough for Manchester United is living in a dream world.”
FRED’S PERFORMANCE AT UNITED
Fred, a 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder who played for Manchester United from 2018 to 2023, scored 14 goals and provided 19 assists in 213 matches for the English team.
HIS TIME AT FENERBAHÇE
In the summer transfer window of 2023, the Brazilian midfielder transferred from Manchester United to Fenerbahçe. Fred played 22 times for Fenerbahçe, contributing with 6 assists.
‘ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING’
When asked about the similarities between his time at Manchester United and the current period under Erik ten Hag, Solskjaer responded, “Yes, absolutely. Inconsistency is still there. After playing well for a while, you never know what you’ll get, and that’s the worst thing for a coach. If you don’t know what you’ll get from your team, it’s absolutely terrifying.”
“HE WOULD PERFORM 7-8 OUT OF 10”
Continuing his remarks, Solskjaer said, “That’s why players like Fred, McTominay, Matic, you know they’ll give you 7-8 out of 10 every time. They’ll give you everything. It’s the best feeling for a coach.”
KEANE: NOT SURE ABOUT FRED
Following Solskjaer’s statement, Keane intervened, saying, “I’m not sure if Fred is a 7-8 out of 10.”
Solskjaer responded to his former teammate, saying, “I liked playing him in midfield; he ran a lot. If you’re a midfielder, you have to run a lot.”
