Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç commented on the signatures gathered by the clubs to bring forward the TFF election, saying, "The signature process didn't start out of nowhere. Nobody was happy and content, the world wasn't all rosy, nobody was complaining, and no one said, 'We have free time, let's go gather signatures.'" Koç also stated regarding the TFF elections, "With its own board decision, it could have gone to the election in 22 days. Even today, if it wanted, it could bring this matter to the beginning of June."

Statements from about the Turkish Football Federation!

Ali Koç made statements regarding the election process at the Turkish Football Federation and the signatures collected by the clubs.

Here are Ali Koç's statements:

“The signature process didn't start out of nowhere. Nobody was happy and content, the wasn't all rosy, nobody was complaining, and no one said, ‘We have free time, let's go gather signatures.'”

“We are experiencing a season of chaos like never before. Crises were not managed. There is a crisis of confidence in Turkish football. Perhaps the least trustworthy institution is the . Perhaps the least trustworthy sector is the football sector in Turkey. Refereeing has turned into a maze. Changes have been made according to individuals and institutions.”

“We have a vengeful president. After the polemic with Mr. Ahmet Nur Çebi, he personalized the matter and showed animosity towards Beşiktaş. There is a strange relationship with .”

“There are so many crises and scandals. The referee incident. We were at the federation two hours before that incident. He told us during halftime that he would change the MHK ( Committee) and the referees. Then there was a punching incident, and the president changed his stance 180 degrees. Reports were changed after the Trabzonspor – Fenerbahçe match to give heavy penalties to Fenerbahçe players, but they didn't dare. Our players were going to be given 4-5 match bans. He sowed discord among the clubs. Incompetent staff. He said he wouldn't run, now he says he'll consider it in May. Those who signed, those who didn't, and the clubs who stand by their principles, I have great respect for them.”

“The process started on April 2nd. On April 4th, 8 teams said they would sign, including Trabzonspor and Galatasaray. Some said it was too late and withdrew their signatures on Monday. On April 5th, 4 more teams joined the process, one of them being Fenerbahçe. We were keeping our distance. Upon requests and pressure, and most importantly, after receiving a letter regarding the , we burned bridges. Finally, Beşiktaş joined. Büyükekşi, who realized the seriousness of the matter, made a statement in Urfa to buy time, saying the general assembly would be with elections. After this statement, three teams who said they would sign withdrew their signatures, saying, ‘We reached our goal for July 18th.' They say this thinking there will be a new federation. Two of our clubs, who have not given their opinion, also say they find it suitable. There are two different opinions, and we gather at the Association on April 16th. I make a statement with 14 clubs. Every club present at the meeting says we need a fresh blood and a new federation. With Dursun's suggestion, dialogue is established as the method. With its own board decision, it could have gone to the election in 22 days. Even today, if it wanted, it could bring this matter to the beginning of June. Because of these, we missed the Super Cup. We will not participate in the Turkish Cup next year.”

“It's clear that the president has caught the wind, with interview after interview. A statement was released on May 1st. It's a scandalous statement. According to this statement, everything is rosy in football. There are excellent achievements, nobody complains, and there were no scandals during the season. Apparently, our president thinks very differently. A minority cannot dominate the majority. We are the minority, he says, 3-5 clubs, and belittles. I don't collect the documents, I believe in President Ecmel. There are 136 notarized warning letters. There are more than 10 Super Lig clubs here, and dozens of lower league teams.”

“I don't know if they made a board decision or not. The majority of the board didn't know on the day they announced it. It's not sincere about July 18th. A wait-and-see policy is being implemented for July 18th. It may be right, struggling. Clubs that don't sign, even if they run, won't get votes from us.”

“Referees are a big problem, it became an even bigger problem after this management.”

“It's said that the motivation for July 18th is the European Football . If the motivation of our children is to see who is at the helm of the federation, it means they don't understand national sentiments. Buying time, tension ends, the league ends, it becomes summer, and then I'll take something good out of the championship and continue my path.”
