Aziz Yıldırım, who is a candidate in the upcoming ordinary elective general assembly of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, scheduled for May 30-31 or June 8-9 if a quorum is not reached, met with congress members.
Meeting with congress members at a restaurant in Kalamış, Aziz Yıldırım entered the venue amidst cheers and flares.
At the dinner, which saw great interest from the congress members, Yıldırım thanked everyone in his speech.
Starting his remarks with “We are all Fenerbahçe fans,” Yıldırım said, “Fenerbahçe winning, becoming champions makes us all happy. For the Galatasaray match, I said, ‘We will beat Galatasaray.’ We’ve reached a point where, if we become champions, we might lose our chance to win the presidency and the board. But still, let Fenerbahçe be the champion. The children haven’t been happy for 10 years. If we become champions, Fenerbahçe children will not be sad.”
Emphasizing that the amateur branches at Fenerbahçe continue successfully, Yıldırım added:
“We are a sports club. The amateur branches continue as we left them. Our team that reached the Final Four will hopefully become champions and bring this cup home for the second time. Regardless of who wins the election, the Fenerbahçe community should continue in unity and solidarity, as we did on July 3. It doesn’t matter who gets elected. We are Fenerbahçe, we are the greatest, and we must remain the greatest. This is the club that revived Kuva-yi Milliye. We saw this on July 3. Let’s all embrace the Republic of Turkey and work for the advancement of this country. I love you all very much. We are Fenerbahçe. Since 1919, we have done everything for the establishment of this republic. Therefore, we must protect Fenerbahçe, and we must strive for peace, not conflict.”
