Barcelona Media Reveal Fenerbahçe’s Bid for İlkay Gündoğan!
It has been reported that Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho is keen to bring Barcelona's midfielder İlkay Gündoğan into his squad. Local media in Barcelona have revealed the details of Fenerbahçe's transfer offer for İlkay.
Continuing their transfer efforts, it is claimed that Fenerbahçe has initiated talks for Barcelona‘s midfielder İlkay Gündoğan, who has also been linked with Galatasaray.
According to the news from El Nacional, which broadcasts in Barcelona, Fenerbahçe’s head coach Jose Mourinho wants to take advantage of the Catalan club‘s need to sell players due to Financial Fair Play regulations to bring İlkay into his squad.
The report highlighted that the Turkish-German international, who had a successful first year at Barcelona, might be sold as he will turn 34 in a few months and has alternatives in his position.
Additionally, the detailed report mentioned that the experienced player allegedly has a strained relationship with a few teammates, with the comment: “President Laporta and Sporting Director Deco had to intervene to prevent a crisis in the locker room. They were greatly disappointed by the German international’s behavior.”
In such a scenario, it was noted that Fenerbahçe stepped in, hoping to reach an agreement with Barcelona to sign İlkay Gündoğan. It is claimed that the Yellow-Navy Blues have offered 20 million Euros as a transfer fee to the Catalan club.
