Fenerbahçe’s Midfield Plan: Amrabat, Berge, and Wendel Key Transfer Targets
Fenerbahçe's Management has decided to step up their efforts for a midfield transfer. There are three candidates on the yellow-dark blue club's agenda for reinforcing this position.
Due to Fred‘s injury and Rade Krunic‘s underwhelming performance, Fenerbahçe has accelerated its efforts to secure a midfield transfer.
According to Sabah Newspaper, Fenerbahçe’s management, eager to qualify for the Champions League, has intensified negotiations by re-establishing contact with the players on their list.
Negotiations had slowed down for Sofyan Amrabat, who tops the list, due to Fiorentina’s demand of €15 million in transfer fees, the player’s annual salary expectation of €5 million, and his plans to move to Manchester United.
As a result, Fenerbahçe officials have shifted their focus to Burnley’s Sander Berge. With the Norwegian player’s positive approach, negotiations have been intensified, and €15 million has been earmarked for this transfer.
The third candidate on the list is Wendel, who is also highly desired by Galatasaray. It has been learned that the yellow-dark blue club has made contact with the Brazilian midfielder from Zenit and is preparing to start negotiations. It is also well-known that President Ali Koç has a close relationship with the Russian club. However, it has been claimed that after the player’s recent rise in form, Zenit has increased their asking price and is aiming to sell him for €60 million. Galatasaray had previously offered €20 million for the star player but was unsuccessful.
