UEFA Penalizes Fenerbahçe for Objects Thrown During Lille Match
UEFA has imposed a suspended partial stadium closure on Fenerbahçe due to objects thrown onto the field during the match against Lille.
In the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, Fenerbahçe hosted Lille. UEFA penalized the yellow-and-navy team due to objects thrown onto the pitch during this match.
PARTIAL STADIUM CLOSURE PENALTY
In a statement from UEFA, it was announced that Fenerbahçe received a suspended partial stadium closure penalty due to the foreign objects thrown onto the field during the Lille match.
In the first leg of the tie, Fenerbahçe lost 2-1 in France. In the return leg, they won 1-0 in regular time, pushing the match into extra time. However, they conceded a goal from a penalty during extra time, leading to their exit from the Champions League.
