Fenerbahçe’s Mourinho Hit with Heavy Penalties: 958,000 TL Fine and Match Ban

“12- FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. official ALİ ACUN ILICALI is fined 600,000 TL under Article 38/4-a of the FDT for statements made on the club’s official website after the TRABZONSPOR A.Ş.-FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. Trendyol Süper Lig Şamil Ekinci Season match on 03.11.2024, which exceeded the limits of freedom of expression and aimed to undermine or discredit the impartiality of referees and other match officials.
FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. head coach JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX is banned from entering the locker room and team bench for one official match and fined 58,500 TL due to unsportsmanlike behavior toward rival team fans.
The referral regarding JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX’s unsportsmanlike conduct toward a rival team player has been dismissed due to the precedent decision (E.2024/403 – K.2024/396) made in the TFF Arbitration Board‘s meeting dated 11.10.2024, in accordance with Article 75/2 of the FDT.
JOSE MARIO DOS SANTOS MOURINHO FELIX has been fined 900,000 TL under Article 38/4-a of the FDT for unsportsmanlike comments made during the post-match flash interview and press conference, which were considered disrespectful to fair play, damaging to the reputation of the TFF, devaluing Turkish football, and aimed at undermining or discrediting the impartiality of referees and other match officials.
FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. goalkeeping coach SANDRO ZUFIC has been fined 74,250 TL and banned from entering the locker room and team bench for two official matches under Articles 82/b and 50/1-c of the FDT due to non-compliance with disciplinary measures and accumulation of two yellow cards.
FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. coach SALVATORE FOTI has been banned from entering the locker room and team bench for two official matches and fined 117,000 TL for unsportsmanlike behavior toward rival team fans.
The referral of FENERBAHÇE A.Ş. player EDIN DZEKO regarding unsportsmanlike statements made during the post-match flash interview has been dismissed, as the comments remained within the boundaries of freedom of expression and did not constitute a disciplinary offense.
