Fenerbahçe Taste First Away Defeat Since 2022-2023 Season
Fenerbahçe's five-match winning streak came to an end with a 1-0 defeat against Beşiktaş in the 15th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig.
The yellow-navy blues dropped points for the first time in five matches and suffered their second league defeat of the season.
Losses in Derbies
Both of Fenerbahçe‘s league losses this season have occurred in derby matches. Prior to the Beşiktaş match, their only loss was at home against Galatasaray, and now they have also lost to Beşiktaş away.
First Goalless Match This Season
This was the first time Fenerbahçe failed to score in a competitive match this season. Under Jose Mourinho, the team had found the net in all 22 of their previous games—13 in the league and 9 in Europe.
Away Unbeaten Streak Snapped After 26 Matches
Fenerbahçe’s remarkable 26-match unbeaten run in away league games has been broken. They had gone undefeated in 19 away matches during the 2023-2024 season and remained unbeaten in seven away games this season. The last away loss in the league came in the final week of the 2022-2023 season, also against Galatasaray.
Four-Match Beşiktaş Away Record Broken
Fenerbahçe returned empty-handed from a Beşiktaş away match for the first time in four games. The last time they lost at Beşiktaş was during the 2019-2020 season, in a 2-0 defeat on July 19, following the pandemic pause.
Since then, Fenerbahçe had played four matches at Beşiktaş, recording one win and three draws. In their previous visit last season, under İsmail Kartal’s management, they secured a 3-1 victory with goals from Dzeko, Tadic, and Szymanski.
This defeat marks the end of that unbeaten run at Beşiktaş.
