Fenerbahçe Requests Time to Decide on Turkish Cup Participation
The President of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF), İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, made a statement regarding Fenerbahçe and Kasımpaşa's decisions not to participate in the Ziraat Turkish Cup.

Hacıosmanoğlu announced that Kasımpaşa has decided to join the competition, while Fenerbahçe will consult with its board of directors and general assembly before making a final decision.
“KASIMPAŞA WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE TURKISH CUP”
Hacıosmanoğlu confirmed Kasımpaşa’s participation, stating:
“Both Fenerbahçe and Kasımpaşa had expressed intentions not to participate in the Turkish Cup. We held discussions with them. Fenerbahçe had made a decision last year, and Kasımpaşa had submitted a notification, which they renewed this year. The situations of the two clubs are different. Kasımpaşa expressed concerns about financial difficulties and high expenses but decided to respond positively to the federation‘s efforts to enhance the brand value of Turkish football. They will participate in the Turkish Cup.”
“FENERBAHÇE REQUESTED TIME”
As for Fenerbahçe, Hacıosmanoğlu explained:
“Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç stated that the club had made a corporate decision and would consult with their board of directors and general assembly before making a final call. They requested more time. I believe they will make a positive decision after those discussions. Hopefully, that will be the case.”
“CLUBS ARE UNHAPPY WITH THE REVENUE”
Hacıosmanoğlu also acknowledged dissatisfaction among clubs regarding the revenue generated by the Turkish Cup, adding:
“If it’s necessary to bring the clubs and the broadcaster together to find a solution, we will do so. We aim to resolve this issue at its root by working collaboratively with our clubs and the broadcaster.”
