Fenerbahçe Cancels Gabriel Souza Transfer After Failed Medical

Fenerbahçe had reached an agreement to sign Gabriel Souza da Silva, but the transfer fell through after the Brazilian footballer failed his medical examination due to a tear detected in his right knee.

It had been reported that Fenerbahçe had reached an agreement for the transfer of Gabriel Souza da Silva, who plays for Vasco da Gama.

The player underwent a medical examination for the yellow-navy club, during which an injury was detected, leading to the cancellation of the transfer.

Behind the Cancellation

Gabriel Souza da Silva traveled from Brazil to Istanbul for the transfer. In the past, he had undergone surgery for a cruciate ligament injury in his left knee. He had since recovered and continued training and playing without any issues. However, during medical examinations in Istanbul, a tear was detected—not in his previously operated left knee, but in his right knee. Since the player was unaware of this injury, and the medical team deemed it a risk, Fenerbahçe decided to cancel the transfer.
