Winter Transfer Window Recap: Fenerbahçe’s Squad Reshaped!
Fenerbahçe reinforced its squad with four new players during the second transfer and registration period of the 2024-2025 season.

The Yellow-Navy Blues bolstered their defense with Diego Carlos, Milan Skriniar, and Ognjen Mimovic, while strengthening their attacking line by signing Anderson Talisca.
Ognjen Mimovic, who was transferred from Red Star Belgrade and signed a 4.5-year contract, became the 15th foreign player in the squad due to Allan Saint-Maximin’s transfer to Napoli not materializing. As a result, Mimovic could not be registered.
Talisca Signs a 1.5-Year Contract
Fenerbahçe’s most talked-about winter transfer was Anderson Talisca.
After extensive negotiations, the club finally secured the signature of the Brazilian playmaker, who previously played for Beşiktaş.
Having parted ways with Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, Talisca reached an agreement with Fenerbahçe and signed a 1.5-year contract.
Three Defensive Reinforcements
Struggling with defensive issues in the first half of the season due to long-term injuries to Jayden Oosterwolde and Rodrigo Becão, Fenerbahçe made three defensive signings.
Brazilian center-back Diego Carlos joined from Aston Villa on a 3.5-year deal, while Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar was loaned from Paris Saint-Germain until the end of the season.
The third defensive addition came from Serbian club Red Star Belgrade, with Fenerbahçe securing right-back Ognjen Mimovic on a 4.5-year contract. However, due to the foreign player quota, Mimovic could not be registered.
Four Players Depart
Fenerbahçe parted ways with four players during the winter transfer window.
The club sent two players out on loan and transferred two others permanently.
Emir Ortakaya, who was loaned to Belgian side Westerlo at the start of the season, returned to Fenerbahçe during the mid-season break before being transferred to another Belgian club, Beerschot, with Fenerbahçe retaining a buy-back option.
Another departure was Samet Akaydin. The Turkish international drew criticism from the stands after an error in the UEFA Europa League match against Athletic Bilbao and had been left out of the squad by José Mourinho since then. Samet completed a permanent move to Çaykur Rizespor.
Additionally, Brazilian midfielder Lincoln Henrique was loaned to English Championship side Hull City, while Bartuğ Elmaz joined Slovenian club Maribor on loan.
