Record-Breaking Deal
Following the expiration of the agreement with Ülker, Fenerbahçe’s management has reportedly reached an agreement with Chinese automotive giant BYD (Build Your Dreams), which has recently made a strong entry into the Turkish market. The China-based electric vehicle giant, seen as Tesla’s biggest rival, is set to pay a record-breaking amount to Fenerbahçe for this deal.
According to sources close to the automotive company, BYD will sign a five-year contract with Fenerbahçe, paying $15 million per year—a total of $75 million. This equates to approximately 2.9 billion TL.
This deal represents one-sixth of Fenerbahçe’s total debt, which currently stands at around 18 billion TL.
