İsmail Kartal: “We’ll fight for the championship until the end”

Fenerbahçe's coach İsmail Kartal commented on the penalty incident in the match against Sivasspor, saying, "When we review the situation from start to finish, I believe it was a very harsh decision for a team competing for the championship." Kartal also stated, "We didn't give up; we'll fight for the championship until the end."

After drawing 2-2 away against Sivasspor in the Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe’s coach İsmail Kartal evaluated the match.

Following the match, İsmail Kartal said, “Ultimately, we came here to get 3 points. We knew that our opponent had shown improvement in recent weeks and defended well. We struggled against their closed defense, but we managed to score 2 goals. We didn’t get the result we wanted, but I trust my players.”

Regarding Sivasspor’s penalty incident and the championship race, Kartal said, “When we review the situation from start to finish, I believe it was a very harsh decision for a team competing for the championship. We didn’t give up; we’ll fight for the championship until the end. We’ll play each of the remaining 5 matches to win. We’re not discussing the point difference. We want to win all 5 matches and become champions.”

“WE NEVER GAVE UP, AND WE WON’T GIVE UP”

İsmail Kartal also said, “They give something against us that doesn’t exist just because there’s a foreign referee. We want justice. Today, justice worked against us. Despite playing a very good game and winning against Olympiakos, we were eliminated. We still believe we will be champions. We didn’t play very well today, that’s true. There are difficulties in playing matches every 3-4 days. It didn’t work out in the end, and we’re sorry. We apologize to our fans. We need to regroup and focus on the upcoming matches. We’ll continue our fight by winning all 5 of our remaining matches. We never gave up, and we won’t give up.”
