Jose Mourinho Calls Turkish League “Toxic” After Fenerbahçe’s Win Against Hatayspor
Fenerbahçe defeated Hatayspor 2-1 in the Süper Lig. After the victory, head coach Jose Mourinho shared his thoughts on the match.

In the 18th week of Trendyol Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe hosted Atakaş Hatayspor. The Yellow-Navy Blues won the game 2-1 with En-Nesyri’s goals, marking the first match of the second half of the season. This victory brought Fenerbahçe’s points total to 39, keeping them in pursuit of the top spot.
Fenerbahçe Head Coach Jose Mourinho evaluated the win on beIN SPORTS:
“We played very well. We dominated from start to finish. Even in half-chances, we were unlucky. We created many opportunities, but we weren’t good with the final passes. A 2-1 scoreline is strange. It could have been 6, 7, or 8. My players did everything they could. If the teams’ colors were different, the match could have ended 11-8. The league we play in is toxic. Our opponents know it. They know how to play against other teams. There should have been 5 red cards in the last two matches. Our players are aware of this.”
Response to the Point Gap Question:
When asked if he thought the point gap would close, Mourinho responded:
“Why are you afraid to tell the truth? Why are you trying to hide the truth by asking me this question? Why are people afraid in this country? Do you think the point gap is only about the football played? Then, just tell the truth.”
