Edin Dzeko: “We will display our best game”
Fenerbahce's star striker Edin Dzeko, ahead of the Super Cup match against Galatasaray, stated, "I hope we will show a better game than we did in Kadikoy. We know what to expect, but we have prepared well for the match. We will display our best game."
The 2023 Turkcell Super Cup is finding its owner. Fenerbahce, the Super League champion, and the winner of the Turkish Cup will face off against each other in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Before the match, Fenerbahce’s experienced Bosnian striker, Edin Dzeko, made statements.
Edin Dzeko: “We should show a better game than the one in Kadikoy”
In his pre-match statement, Edin Dzeko said, “Being here makes me feel good. I believe we are ready as a team. I came here last year with Inter. I won a cup against Milan. I hope we will win another cup. I hope we will show a better game than we did in Kadikoy.”
The experienced forward continued, “I have a very long career. I have won many cups. Hopefully, I will win for Fenerbahce as the captain. It would be a fantastic feeling for me. We know what to expect, but we have prepared well for the match. My teammates also know what they need to do. We will display our best game.”
Response to the Icardi question from Dzeko
Regarding the question about Mauro Icardi, Edin Dzeko said, “I know Icardi from Italy. They are trying to portray it as if there is a problem between us, but it’s not true. What happens on the field stays on the field. Our friendship continues in the same way off the field.”
