Fenerbahçe Targets South Korean Defender Seol Young-Woo
Continuing its transfer efforts, Fenerbahçe has set its sights on a South Korean defender. The 25-year-old player participated in all matches of the Asian Cup.
Engaged in a fierce championship race in the Süper Lig with Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe is also working to strengthen its squad. The yellow-navy club, which secured stars like Rade Krunic, Leonardo Bonucci, and Çağlar Söyüncü during the mid-season transfer window, is now targeting a South Korean defender.
“COULD BE THE NEW KIM MIN-JAE”
According to South Korean journalist Jason Lee, Fenerbahçe has made an offer to Ulsan Hyundai, the club of South Korea‘s national team left-back, Seol Young-Woo. The report indicates that the 25-year-old player aims to continue his career in European football. The current market value of the South Korean player is reported to be 1.4 million euros.
“VERSATILE” DEFENDER
Although the original position of the 25-year-old player is right-back, Seol Young-Woo can play both right-back and left-back. In the Asian Cup, he played as a left-back in the semi-final against Jordan, where South Korea lost 2-0 and got eliminated from the tournament. In the group stage matches against Bahrain and Jordan, he played as a right-back. The experienced player started in the first eleven in all matches of the Asian Cup.
OFFERS ALSO FROM SERBIA
The 25-year-old defender has reportedly received an official offer from Serbian club FK Crvena Zvezda. Seol Young-Woo transferred from Ulsan University to Ulsan Hyundai on a free transfer in 2020. In his professional football career, the South Korean defender has played 150 matches, scoring 7 goals, and providing 13 assists.
