İsmail Kartal’s Post-Match statements after Gaziantep FK Turkish Cup match!
Fenerbahçe's head coach İsmail Kartal, after the match in which they advanced to the quarter-finals of the Ziraat Turkish Cup, stated: "Playing football here was very difficult again today. We contribute to Turkish football. How can the players of both teams play on such a field?"
Gaziantep FK and Fenerbahçe faced each other in the last 16 round of the Ziraat Turkish Cup. Fenerbahçe, the winner of the match, advanced to the quarter-finals.
After the competition, Fenerbahçe’s head coach İsmail Kartal made evaluations.
İsmail Kartal said after the match: “I mentioned two weeks ago that the pitch was bad here. Playing football here was very difficult again today. We contribute to Turkish football. How can the players of both teams play on such a field? At halftime, the players talked about not being able to pass, not being able to play because of the pitch. We won today. The team was very disciplined and focused.”
Continuing his statement, Fenerbahçe’s head coach said: “Maybe we can’t attribute Mert’s injury to the pitch. We have a couple more players with injuries. We can’t attribute everything to the pitch, but there can be such small situations.”

Speaking about Batshuayi, who scored 2 goals in the match, and commenting on the squad selection, Kartal stated: “There is no problem with our squad selection. We take it game by game and continue on our way.”
