Mario Branco personally addressed the rumors about Porto and Benfica. Speaking to Channel 11, Branco did not hide his wish to return to Portugal and take on a role at a major team.
“PORTO AND BENFICA DID NOT CONTACT ME”
“I have never worked at a major club in Portugal. It would be a lie to say I didn’t like it,” said Mario Branco, adding, “Porto and Benfica did not contact me.”
When asked which of the two clubs he would prefer, Branco stated, “I have no preference. My club is Leixoes.”
Appointed as the football director at Fenerbahçe at the beginning of last season, Mario Branco has assumed the role of sporting director this season.
