Statement from Fenerbahçe: Decision to withdraw from the Super League will be discussed
Fenerbahçe Club announced via its official website that the Board of Directors Meeting will evaluate actions to be taken, including the withdrawal of the football team from the league.
In the 30th week of the Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe won 3-2 against Trabzonspor as visitors. After the final whistle, there were clashes between Trabzonspor fans and Fenerbahçe players.
Due to the events in Trabzon, Fenerbahçe Board Members will convene on April 2, 2024, and if the required majority cannot be achieved, they will reconvene on April 9, 2024. The yellow-navy blues stated that they would evaluate actions, including the withdrawal of the football team from the Süper Lig.
ALİ KOÇ: “IF NECESSARY, WE WILL DROP”
Fenerbahçe President made statements on FB TV regarding the matter.
Ali Koç stated, “If necessary, we will drop to a lower league. Everyone should come to their senses. Rather than dying every day, we will die one day. If necessary, we will play for a year and then come back up. If the match had ended 2-2, the championship would have been gone. Who organized this? Trabzonspor Board did not organize it, but someone did. Why were there no police, why were no security measures taken? There is no place for Fenerbahçe in this league. We are trying to compete honestly.”
“I WON’T RESIGN IF WE DROP TO A LOWER LEAGUE”
Fenerbahçe President continued his words, “Now they have started; they say Fenerbahçe players should be given this punishment, that punishment. Go ahead, give whatever punishment you want. We are going through a very crucial period in Fenerbahçe’s history. I am pleading with the congress members, come and stand by your club. The desired outcome is for Fenerbahçe not to win, even not to be on the fields. We will decide where this will go with our congress members at the general assembly. If we decide to withdraw from the league, I will continue presidency. We will bring the club back to the top league and then I will leave.”

“MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING DATED 18.03.2024
The Board of Directors convened on 18.03.2024 and made the following decision.
1- In accordance with the second paragraph of Article 20 of our Statute (c), upon the request of the entire Board of Directors, an Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting will be held with the following agenda; the meeting will be held on April 2, 2024, Tuesday, at 17:00 at Ülker Stadium Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex, Kadıköy, Istanbul, and if the necessary majority cannot be reached, the meeting will be held on April 9, 2024, Tuesday, at the same place and time, with the same agenda, without requiring a majority.
Agenda: 1- Opening,
2- Election of the General Assembly Presidency,
3- Moment of Silence,
4- National Anthem,
5- Evaluation of actions to be taken, including the withdrawal of our Football A Team from the Süper Lig, in light of the events that occurred during the Süper Lig match played on the night of March 17, 2024, and recent events in Turkish football,
