Mourinho’s Post-Match Analysis After Fenerbahçe’s Win Against Lugano!
Fenerbahçe defeated Swiss team Lugano 2-1 in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round, following their 4-3 win in the first match, and advanced to the next round. After the match, Fenerbahçe's head coach Jose Mourinho stated, "We need solutions. We have three top-level options in the forward position. In modern football, you need different systems. There may be times when we play with two forwards. We will need to make changes even during the match."

Fenerbahçe, aiming to continue its journey in the UEFA Champions League, faced Lugano. Having won the first match 4-3, Fenerbahçe secured a 2-1 victory in this match and advanced to the next round. Fenerbahçe will face Lille in the third qualifying round.
After the match, Fenerbahçe’s head coach Jose Mourinho made statements.
Jose Mourinho said, “At this stage, everything is important. It would be a perfect scenario if all the players were with us from day one, but we couldn’t even fully train with half of the players. Yesterday, I said in the press conference that we need to survive. People may think the Swiss League is not top-level, but it’s not true. We have a lot of time to work. This is the Champions League level. We were calm and managed to survive. After the 1-1, the game was in our hands.”
COMMENT ON FORWARD SELECTION
Continuing his statement, Mourinho said, “I want a narrow and high-level squad. If you want to fight for the championship and in Europe, you need a good squad. We need solutions. We have three top-level options in the forward position. In modern football, you need different systems. There may be times when we play with two forwards. We will need to make changes even during the match.”
COMMENTS ON LILLE
About their opponents, Mourinho said, “I have no comments at the moment. We know it will be difficult. Starting from tomorrow, after getting some sun by the swimming pool, we will start working on Lille.”
