Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç Discusses Future Goals and Expectations from TFF
Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç answered questions from the press following the signing ceremony for the "Trendyol Süper Lig and Trendyol 1. Lig media broadcasting rights" between TFF and the broadcaster.

Koç expressed confidence in the TFF Management Board led by President İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, stating, “The TFF President says they will bring justice to the field. As the perception that championships are won on the field increases, so will quality and trust. In the last two years, many significant names have started coming to Turkey, which will increase interest and attention. BeIN Sports will open the Süper Lig to the world. We also need to make Turkish football watchable globally. Our expectation from TFF is to proceed on the right path without succumbing to social media perceptions and pressures. I believe they will do this. Believe me, if this happens, many things will change in football. Perceptions are being created about certain names in the committees. I believe this federation will not bow down.”
Highlighting the importance of combating pirate broadcasting, Koç said, “The broadcaster and our government are doing their best against pirate broadcasting. However, it is not enough. Necessary technological applications need to be implemented with the encouragement of our government. This is a $10-20 million investment. We cannot completely eliminate piracy, but we can minimize it. As the quality and sense of justice increase, with the level of players and coaches coming here, we could be talking about $350-400 million in three years. I also thank the broadcaster. The new broadcast tender is good news. It has doubled compared to the past. If we see the glass half full, this is an important success. If we see it half empty, look at where the numbers have come from. We must give credit to the past federation for their right actions. We believe that if some things improve, we will be talking about different numbers in three years.”
“The Turkish Football Economy Must Be Made Sustainable”
Emphasizing that clubs’ Spor Toto revenues should be much higher, Koç stated, “Clubs are making significant investments. It is hard to bring these names here, but it is even harder to keep these players here. The Turkish football economy needs to be made sustainable soon. Otherwise, Turkey is becoming a betting paradise. Unfortunately, match-fixing is happening.”
Koç said that the quickest way for a sustainable economy is through Spor Toto revenues, “I think this federation will make great progress. The total Spor Toto revenue for all clubs is $12 million. This figure needs to be $330-340 million. Work is being done on this with the directive of our President. There needs to be a standard for referee management and penalties. This is our greatest expectation.”
Ali Koç concluded his remarks by congratulating the national team for reaching the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Football Championship.
