Mert Hakan Yandaş: “We Are Well-Prepared to Face Lille”
Fenerbahçe's midfielder Mert Hakan Yandaş spoke ahead of the Lille match in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Mert Hakan Yandaş made statements before the first match of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, where Fenerbahçe will face France‘s Lille team away tomorrow.
Expressing that Lille has been a good team playing together for many years, Mert Hakan Yandaş said, “We know what kind of opponent we will face. We have an experienced coach and a good team. We have prepared well for tomorrow’s match. Hopefully, we will return to Istanbul with a good result and do everything to qualify for the Champions League.”
Regarding the competition for positions, Mert Hakan noted, “Fenerbahçe is a very big club. Every season, new players join, which is very normal for such a big club. Our job is to increase the competition and move the team forward. This is my fifth season here. I have played with many players. I try to do my best. It will always continue like this. We try to help the new players to contribute and adapt to the team. Whether it’s for 5 minutes or 90 minutes, I strive to represent the Fenerbahçe jersey as best as I can.”
Highlighting the importance of happiness within the team for the community, the experienced player said, “Our coach has a very warm communication with everyone. This is a big advantage. I think his human relations are also very good. I believe he does this sincerely. I have responsibilities towards the community. Overall, I have very good relations with the whole team. What stood out for us last season was the team’s unity. I think the happiness at Samandıra reflects on the Fenerbahçe community. Therefore, the happiness at Samandıra is very important for us.” He concluded his remarks.
