Mert Müldür: “We Are Fully Focused on Advancing to the Next Round”
Mert Müldür, Fenerbahçe's national player, expressed that they will do their best to advance in the round.
Fenerbahçe, set to host France’s Lille in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tomorrow, had national player Mert Müldür attend the press conference today. The 25-year-old expressed his team’s determination to advance to the next stage.
The right-back stated that they are well-prepared for the match, saying, “Hopefully, we will be the ones who advance. It’s a match we must win. We definitely want to progress. We are fully focused on tomorrow’s game.”
Mert mentioned that the national team process went well but is now behind him, saying, “Competition for the jersey exists in every big club, and it’s a good thing—it’s essential. Who plays is the coach’s decision, but if everyone gives 100% for the team, there won’t be any problems. I will be on the field tomorrow, and I will give my all. Hopefully, we will play a great match and leave with a victory.”
Mert emphasized that the league in Turkey is tough, saying, “Our goal is to advance. The Super League is not as easy as it seems from the outside. They say it’s low-tempo, but it’s not as easy as it looks. We will try to do even more than they do to advance. We expect the stadium to be fully packed, as always. We have incredible support at home. Hopefully, we will experience that excitement again.”
