LAST SEASON’S TRABZONSPOR MATCH

Referring to last season’s match in Trabzon, Ilıcalı said, “What happened in Trabzon last year is in the past. Tensions can arise in football at any time, but there’s no point in turning it into a blood feud. It was a bad day for everyone. I hope such incidents don’t happen again.”

Expressing that they’re going to Trabzon to win, Ilıcalı added, “We go into every match aiming to win. We will fight until the end, but this is football. There’s no such thing as a team that never loses, but we are going to Trabzon to win. We’ll play to win. The team is united, and the atmosphere at Samandıra is great. We believe in our team and our coach. We aim to bring back 3 points from there.”

GALATASARAY – BEŞİKTAŞ DERBY REFEREE

Regarding the refereeing in the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby, Ilıcalı said, “I don’t want to constantly talk , but after I spoke, I think everyone saw the situation. Things aren’t exactly rosy at the moment. If no action is taken, what happened to Beşiktaş today could happen to another team tomorrow. It could happen to Trabzonspor, Göztepe, or anyone. If there’s no change, that’s my opinion.”

REFEREE FOR THE TRABZONSPOR – FENERBAHÇE MATCH

On the appointment of young Oğuzhan Çakır for the Trabzonspor match, Ilıcalı commented, “Trying out a young referee is a good attempt. It’s generally thought that a young referee could be beneficial for football, but if you ask me, I lost faith in Turkish referees a long time ago. It’s the federation’s decision, but I’ll be straightforward; if you show last weekend’s game to any foreigner, they’d ask, ‘Is this country even playing football?'”
